Saladin Ayyubi Objective: To be able to lead this beautiful country known as Finnsgard and also to improve it in matters of economic, religious, and social affairs. I hope that I will be able to present solid reasons why I am the perfect man for this specific job of replacing Queen Finn as the new absolute monarch. Experience: 1189-1192 Near East (Anatolia, Levant, Israel) Third Crusade - 1152: Started work in the service of the Syrian ruler, Nurredin. - 1164: Starts to show his military and strategical qualities under 3 campaigns against the Crusaders who were established in Palestine, with the first campaign this year. - 1169: Serves as second to the commander in chief of the Syrian army, my uncle Shirkuh. Shirkuh became vizier of Egypt, but died after only 2 months. Then I took his place as vizier. - 1183: Conquers the important north-Syrian city of Aleppo. - 1186: Conquers Mosul in northern Iraq. - 1187: With new strength he attacks the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem, and after 3 months of fighting gets control over the city. - 1189: A third Crusade manages to enlarge the coastal area of Palestine, while Jerusalem remains under my control. Accomplishments: - Because of the many different cultures I have come across during my years of conquering, I have been able to handle different situations with different kinds of people relatively well. - The chivalrous relationship between me and the Christian King Richard the Lionheart , showing that I'm able to work with very different people. - I've conquered many different lands, such as Damascus and Aleppo (in Syria), Moslum (in Iraq), and all of Jerusalem. - I governed Egypt, Northern Mesopotamia, Palestine and Syria, this showing that I have experience in governing. The biggest problem that i will probably face is that Finssgard's social class is very divided so I will have to make sure that the poor will also be able to get a good education and be able to provide for their family. I will solve this problem by providing education for people who can't afford it generally. Through this I hope that the social system of Finnsgard will be more equal in the amount of wealth that each family has. Another big problem that I think I will face as the new ruler of Finnsgard is the fact that since Finnsgardians are very religious they aren't very open to new ideas. Because of this I will impose the rule that states that people can follow any religion that they want so that they can choose whether they want to believe the new ideas or not. 2. In my opinion my greatest talent is the fact that i am great at conquering other lands and discovering new places. An example of my great conquering skills is that i was able to conquer and control Syria, Egypt, northern Mesopotamia, and Palestine. To add to that idea, I also started a war against the crusaders from Europe and was successful in conquering Jerusalem. This talent will help Finnsgard in order to expand because we will have better resources and a greater population so that we can have a greater and stronger army. Another great talent of mine is that I have been known to be a great advisor. Due to this I can also help Finnsgard by giving my advise to the highly important priests. This way I can help people who want to follow a new religion. 3. I simply AM the best monarch for this job. I have lots of experience when it comes to ruling nations as I was named the king of Egypt among others. I have also proven to be a great conqueror and advisor. I was able to conquer Jerusalem and win a war against the very strong army from the European crusaders. This shows how I am able to beat any nation no matter how big or strong their army might be. Finally, I am also able to get along well with very different people as you can see from my chivalrous relationship with King Richard the Lionheart. Koen, Gustavo and Hannah |
